OYAQUA in Zimbabwe: Local Team, Local Stock, Lasting Commitment

Oct 20,2026

OYAQUA has been selling in Zimbabwe for around four to five years. Long enough that the market is no longer a new one for the brand, and long enough that most of what happens there is routine rather than remarkable. This is not a launch story — it is a short account of how the market actually runs.

Four to Five Years Changes What You Know

Time in a market builds a particular kind of knowledge: which models move, which finishes sell, which installations fail and why, which customers pay on time. None of that arrives with a container.

Zimbabwe’s construction sector has been recovering for several years, and demand has grown faster than local supply. Cement imports show the direction clearly: monthly imports rose from about USD 1.46 million in January 2021 to USD 12.02 million in April 2026 — an 8.2-fold increase — because building activity outgrew domestic production. When construction moves that fast, the suppliers who can answer quickly are the ones who stay in the conversation.

A Local Team, Not a Remote One

OYAQUA’s Zimbabwe team is employed in the market. They visit customers, prepare quotations, follow orders through, and handle the questions that come after installation. When a buyer in Harare needs an answer, the conversation does not have to begin with a factory in China.

That sounds like a small thing. In practice it changes the pace of everything: a problem that would take three emails across time zones becomes one phone call, and a specification question gets answered by someone who has seen the site.

Local Stock, With a Clear Boundary

There is a warehouse in Zimbabwe, and it supplies what is actually held there — fast-moving lines and the spare parts that stop a job when they are missing. Products that are not stocked locally still travel by container, and sea freight from China typically takes six to ten weeks before clearance.

Being precise about that boundary is deliberate. A distributor who is told everything is in stock, then waits two months for the one item a project needs, stops trusting the next promise. It is better to say plainly what is on the shelf and what is still on the water.

What This Means for Buyers Here

  • Someone local to call, in the same working hours.
  • Faster answers on specification, stock and after-sales.
  • Replenishment on stocked lines without waiting for a container.
  • Project timelines that are not held hostage by a shipment date.

Still Here

Four to five years is not a milestone that needs a press release of its own. It matters because of what it makes possible: a team that knows the market, stock that is already in the country, and a relationship that does not reset with every order.
