Twelve Best-Selling OYAQUA Faucets for 2026
OYAQUA has twelve faucet models in steady demand across African projects: four basin mixers, four kitchen mixers and four cold-only kitchen taps. This guide sets out what each one is made of, which finish it carries, and where it belongs.
They are grouped below by where they are installed rather than by colour, because installation position is the first decision a buyer makes and the one that is hardest to reverse. Within each group the differences come down to body material, finish and outlet.
Three Series, Three Jobs: BM, KM and KT
The model prefix tells you what the faucet is for before you look at anything else.
Series
What it is
Water supply
Mounting
BM
Basin mixer for the washbasin
Hot and cold, two inlets
Single-hole, deck-mounted
KM
Kitchen mixer for the sink
Hot and cold, two inlets
Single-hole, deck-mounted
KT
Kitchen tap, cold water only
Cold only, single inlet
Deck-mounted, except the KT-2403N which is wall-mounted
The suffix letter is the finish. C is polished chrome, H is gun grey, N is brushed stainless in the metal's own colour, and K is matte black. Once a buyer knows the code, a model number is a full specification: KM-619K is a kitchen mixer with a matte black finish.
Reading the code on a quotation
Series first, finish second. BM and KM always mix hot and cold; KT never does. That single distinction removes most of the back-and-forth when a contractor sends a list with only model numbers on it.
What the 2026 Finish Data Says
Finish is the decision buyers change most often, and the one where published trend data is most useful. The NKBA 2026 Bath Trends Report ranks fixture finish preferences as matte 54%, brushed 51%, satin 46% and polished 39% — every non-gloss option now sits above polished.
A 2026 survey of kitchen and bath professionals published by KBBonline after KBIS puts numbers on it per room. In the bathroom, gold and bronze lead faucet finishes at 29.4% with brushed or satin nickel second at 26.6%. In the kitchen, brushed or satin nickel takes first place at 33.9% with gold and bronze at 28.4%. Reporting from the 2026 buying-show season adds the counterweight: chrome remains the category's foundational finish because it matches existing repair and replacement stock, while matte black is the fastest-rising option and moves faster in coastal markets than inland ones.
Matte leads at 54%. NKBA 2026 ranks matte above brushed, satin and polished — the first time the gap over polished is this wide.
Brushed wins the kitchen at 33.9%. KBBonline's post-KBIS 2026 survey puts brushed or satin nickel top for kitchen fixtures and fittings.
Polished trails at 39%. Still specified, still the cheapest to match, but no longer the default in new work.
Matte black is the mover. Industry commentary from the 2026 buying season describes it as the hot finish, adopted faster on the coast than inland.
Chrome stays foundational. It matches repair and replacement stock, which is why it remains the safe pick for maintenance-driven work.
Mixed metals are normal now. Finish flexibility and personalisation, rather than one uniform package, are what 2026 design research points to.
The OYAQUA range covers four of those finishes: chrome on the BM-302C and BM-315C, gun grey on the BM-309H, BM-316H and KM-616H, brushed stainless on five models, and matte black on the KM-619K and KT-2408K.
SUS201 or Zinc Alloy: What the Material Decides
Ten of the twelve models use SUS201 stainless steel; the BM-315C and BM-316H use zinc alloy. Material buying guides used across the trade quote broadly consistent service-life bands, and those bands are what should drive the choice.
Body material
Typical service life quoted
Corrosion resistance
Where it fits best
Brass
20–30 years
Excellent
High-end residential, hotels, hospitals
Stainless steel 304
15–20 years
Very good
Kitchens, commercial, high-humidity sites
Stainless steel 201
10–15 years
Moderate
Indoor and inland projects, cost-conscious builds
Zinc alloy
5–10 years
Fair
Budget, decorative and light-duty installations
SUS201 carries less nickel than 304, which is why guides describe it as the cost-effective grade with moderate corrosion resistance and recommend it for indoor or low-moisture use. Zinc alloy is lighter and takes intricate shapes and plating well, but its shorter quoted life and its sensitivity to moisture make it a budget and decorative choice rather than a heavy-duty one.
How to place them: on coastal or persistently humid sites — Lagos, Tema, Abidjan, Dakar, Durban, Mombasa — specify the SUS201 bodies and avoid zinc alloy. On dry inland interiors and on units where the budget is the binding constraint, zinc alloy remains a legitimate answer, provided the buyer knows what they are buying.
Basin Mixers: BM-302C, BM-309H, BM-315C and BM-316H
The BM series covers the washbasin. All four mix hot and cold through a single lever, mount on a single deck hole, and deliver an aerated stream through a removable honeycomb aerator.

BM-302C — polished chrome, SUS201. The safe specification: chrome matches existing repair stock, and the stainless body handles humidity better than a plated zinc alternative.BM-309H — gun grey, SUS201. The same body as the BM-302C in the finish that 2026 data favours. Specify it where the basin, mirror frame and hardware are all moving to darker tones.BM-315C — polished chrome, zinc alloy. The cost-led basin option. Best placed in dry interiors, guest washrooms and secondary bathrooms rather than in a humid coastal main bath.BM-316H — gun grey, zinc alloy. Gun grey hides fingerprints and water spotting far better than polished chrome, which makes it the better zinc-bodied choice for a shared or high-traffic washroom.
Kitchen Mixers: KM-601N, KM-603N, KM-616H and KM-619K
The KM series is built for the sink: a taller spout for pots and pans, hot and cold mixing, and — on two of the four — a pull-out spray head. All four are SUS201 bodies.

KM-601N — brushed stainless, SUS201. The finish that leads kitchen specifications at 33.9% in the 2026 KBBonline survey, and the one that hides water spotting best next to a stainless sink.KM-603N — brushed stainless, SUS201. A second brushed option with a different spout profile, so a distributor can cover two counter depths from one finish family and one spare-parts list.KM-616H — gun grey, SUS201. Pull-out head with three spray modes: aerated stream, rain spray and a blade jet for scrubbing pans and rinsing the bowl.KM-619K — matte black, SUS201. Pull-out head with two modes, aerated stream and rain spray. The design-led choice for a kitchen with dark cabinet hardware.
Pull-Out Spray Heads: Three Modes on the KM-616H, Two on the KM-619K
Only two models in the range pull out, and they are not the same. The KM-616H gives three modes — aerated stream, rain spray and a concentrated blade jet. The KM-619K gives two — aerated stream and rain spray. Everything else in the range has a fixed aerated spout.
Multiple spray modes are not a novelty feature. In the KBBonline 2026 survey of specialty kitchen faucet elements, multiple spray modes were specified in 42.9% of projects and magnetic docking in 35.2%, placing both in the top five above glass rinsers and LED indicators. The blade jet on the KM-616H is the practical part: it is what removes baked-on residue from a pan and what clears a sink bowl without a sponge.
Check before you quote one: a pull-out head needs clearance behind and beneath the sink for the hose to travel, and a weighted hose needs room to retract. On a shallow undermount or a sink sitting directly against a wall, a fixed-spout KM-601N or KM-603N is usually the safer install.
Cold-Only Kitchen Taps: KT-2401N, KT-2403N, KT-2404N and KT-2408K
The KT series takes cold supply only through a single inlet. It is the range's workhorse group: utility sinks, outdoor and verandah sinks, wash-up areas, borehole and tank-fed points, and any project where no hot water is run to the fixture. All four are SUS201.

KT-2401N — brushed stainless, cold only. The standard utility tap. Brushed stainless is the right finish here because these taps get wiped down constantly and rarely dried.KT-2403N — brushed stainless, wall-mounted. The only wall-mounted model in the range. It clears the deck entirely, which is why it suits a scrub sink, a wash-down point or any counter that has to stay unobstructed.KT-2404N — brushed stainless, cold only. A compact deck-mounted alternative to the KT-2401N for a smaller basin or a tight corner where a full-height spout would overhang.KT-2408K — matte black, cold only. The matching cold tap for a kitchen fitted with the KM-619K, so a mixed hot-and-cold and cold-only specification can still read as one set.
The Aerator and the Cartridge: Two Parts That Decide Service Life
Two small components generate most of the service calls on a faucet, and neither of them is the body.
The aerator
An aerator mixes air into the water, splitting the flow into fine droplets. The stream feels fuller while the actual volume drops. Trade references put an unaerated faucet above 8 litres per minute, with water-saving aerators limiting flow to roughly 5 to 7 litres per minute and cutting sink-related consumption by around 30% or more. Every fixed-spout model in this range uses a removable honeycomb aerator, which also acts as a last screen against sediment.
Removability is the point. Where water comes from a borehole, a storage tank or an ageing municipal main, the mesh is what catches the grit, and it is what scales up first in hard water. Unscrewing it, rinsing it and soaking it in a dilute citric acid solution restores full flow in minutes, and it is the first thing to check when a stream goes weak or starts spraying sideways.
The cartridge
Ceramic disc cartridges are the industry standard for a reason: two polished discs slide against each other, the material resists wear, and the common benchmark quoted for a quality ceramic cartridge is around 500,000 operating cycles. A persistent drip from a closed faucet, a handle that has gone stiff, or temperature that will not settle is almost always the cartridge — or the aerator — rather than the body.
Stock these two: aerators and cartridges are the parts customers actually replace. Holding them alongside complete faucets turns a two-week wait into a same-day fix, and on a zinc-bodied model the cartridge is usually the part worth replacing rather than the whole unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do the letters C, H, N and K mean in an OYAQUA model code?
They are the finish. C is polished chrome, H is gun grey, N is brushed stainless in the metal's own colour and K is matte black. Combined with the series prefix — BM for basin, KM for kitchen, KT for cold-only kitchen — the code gives you the application and the finish in one string.
Is a zinc alloy faucet a bad choice?
It is a trade-off, not a defect. Zinc alloy is light, takes intricate shapes and plates well, and it costs less; the trade-off is a shorter quoted service life of roughly 5 to 10 years and fair rather than good corrosion resistance. Put it in a dry inland interior or a cost-driven unit, and keep the SUS201 bodies for coastal, humid or heavy-use sites.
When does a cold-only tap make sense?
Wherever no hot water is run to the fixture: utility and verandah sinks, wash-up and wash-down points, outdoor kitchens, borehole or tank-fed standpipes, and budget builds where a geyser only serves the bathroom. The KT series also costs less to install because there is one inlet instead of two.
Why has my faucet stream gone weak?
In nine cases out of ten it is the aerator. Sediment from a tank or borehole clogs the mesh, and in hard water scale builds on it. Unscrew the aerator, rinse it, and soak it in a dilute citric acid solution before refitting. If flow is still poor with the aerator removed, look at the supply pressure rather than the faucet.
Matte black or brushed stainless — which is easier to keep looking new?
Brushed stainless. Its texture diffuses light, so fingerprints and water spotting are far less visible, whereas matte black shows water spots readily even though it resists fingerprints. Matte black is the stronger visual statement and the faster-rising finish; brushed is the lower-maintenance one and the one that leads kitchen specifications.
Which models are wall-mounted?
One: the KT-2403N, a brushed stainless cold-only tap. It is the model to specify when the deck has to stay clear or when the supply is stubbed out of the wall rather than through the counter.
Can I match the finish across the basin and the kitchen?
Yes. Gun grey runs across the BM-309H, BM-316H and KM-616H; brushed stainless across the KM-601N, KM-603N and three KT models; matte black across the KM-619K and KT-2408K; chrome across the BM-302C and BM-315C. Matching the basin faucet to the kitchen faucet is the single detail that makes a mixed-supply specification still look deliberate.
Read the model code first: BM is basin, KM is kitchen, KT is cold-only kitchen, and the suffix is the finish. That one habit removes most specification errors.
Non-gloss finishes now lead — NKBA 2026 puts matte at 54%, brushed at 51% and satin at 46%, all above polished at 39% — and brushed stainless leads the kitchen specifically at 33.9%. Chrome is still the finish to specify where replacement stock and price decide the job.
Material decides where a faucet can go. Ten of these twelve models are SUS201 stainless, which suits indoor and inland projects; the two zinc alloy basin mixers are the right answer for dry interiors and tight budgets and the wrong one for coastal humidity.
Finally, the parts that fail are the small ones. A removable honeycomb aerator that is cleaned twice a year, and a ceramic disc cartridge held as a spare, will keep any of these twelve working long after the finish has stopped being the thing anyone notices.
